Sundance Channel asked Big City to come up with a few example videos for their first annual “Big Ideas Contest.” This video shows off the simple yet amazing patented idea some NYC high school students had for a new kind of compost box. The spot was shot by George Spyros in 24p standard definition to mini DV tape using the Panasonic DVX camcorder.
Sundance Channel invited folks to upload vids with their “big idea” for improving the state of the environment — and with $10k on the line for the winner. So, Sundance Channel invited Big City Pictures in partnership with the gang at TreeHugger to produce three sample videos for the contest.
Sundance Channel asked Big City to come up with a few example videos for their first annual “Big Ideas Contest.” This video features the kids of the Lafayette Street School in Newark, New Jersey who were taught using curricula found on the Rainforest Alliance Learning Site. This spot was shot by George Spyros in 720p HD to P2 cards using the Panasonic HVX camera with b-roll overcranked for slow-motion at 48-frames-per-second coupled with Century Pro Fisheye Lens and lit entirely with 2 ft. 4 bank Kino Flo units articulated on c-stands.
BCP produced, shot and edited the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 7 for The CW and Reitz Lange. DP Marcus Burnett shot winning fashion model CariDEE English in 24p using the Panasonic DVX100 in The CW Lounge (aka a room in the W Hotel in mid-town Manhattan). The judicious use of china balls did the trick to provide some soft, beauty lighting.
