Ditching DV Tapes in Post Production on Styleyes

The Sitv living-latino lifestyle show Styleyes is being shot primarily using the Panasonic DVX100 dropping the video to mini DV tapes in the field.  We’re beginning the journey to the “tapeless” future of video production by choosing to physically dump the tapes after Final Cut Pro ingest.

We keep all Quicktime files on two sets of drives for redundancy as well as simply from the fact that we have two edit rooms going on the show. But for safety, we also back-up to DVD-R and use DiskTracker to track the files.
