Czech artists Vladimir Turner and Ondřej Mladý made a video performance on the streets of Prague mounting a pico projector to the bike handlebars to display a DIY digital bike lane in front of the rider. Gizmodo notes that it might have been clever to rig another projector in the back so that cars would also see the bike lane as they approached the rider. Animal NY reports that this performance piece called Safety First (2011) is the way the artists are bringing attention to Prague’s dirth of bike paths. Watch the video above, the structure of which is clearly designed to be viewed looping in a gallery setting.
