BCP Jargon Patrol: IPM (In-Program-Message) or Snipe

Have you ever been watching a tv show only to have your attention pulled to an animation slapped over the video in the lower left-hand corner? Well that’s a snipe. The message part of these in-program messages enters into it when text information is written over the clean or textless background graphic bed.

Snipes are used to promo up-coming programs on a channel or as calls-to-action such as web-tosses or texting-in for contests and sweepstakes.
