Does Jack Johnson ever feel overwhelmed by the environmental problems in the world?

Jack Johnson’s most recent album Sleep Through the Static went on sale February 5th. He has released 3 solo records (Brushfire Fairytales, On & On and In Between Dreams), and contributed to a number of Soundtracks including Curious George, A Brokedown Melody, Thicker Than Water and September Sessions. These albums have sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

Jack Johnson: [singing] All at once the world can overwhelm me.

I get really overwhelmed sometimes.

Those realities are scary. But at the same time, it’s joyful participation, just try to do a little bit every day and do what you can to promote positive change without hoping for some grand solutions. Some of those things we think are solutions are going to be the problems of tomorrow. And we take them too far and they take things back out of balance in the other direction and we have to balance that back out. There is always going to be work to be done.
