  • Par King

Always a risk-taker, George Spyros shot his first 16mm short Par King entirely without sound and then over-dubbed by different actors none of whom were in the same room at the same time. The director’s decision not to show more than one character in the same shot and its use of rapid fire editing captures the separateness and loneliness that the teenage characters feel.  This 1991 short proved visionary both for its innovative style and for introducing a sixteen-year-old Vince Vaughn the future star of Swingers and Jurassic Park: The Lost World. (16mm, 22 minutes)
