Sundance Channel Big Idea Contest: Green CO2 Dry Cleaners

Sundance Channel asked Big City to come up with a few example videos for their first annual “Big Ideas Contest.” We choose Green Apple Cleaners and its Founder David Kistner and its awesome CO2 dry-cleaning machine as the subjects of our inquiry. Our fantastic cinematographer Marcus Burnett rolled in with the Panasonic HVX camera outfitted with the Brevis 35mm lens adapter as well as a skateboard dolly with twenty feet of track. The spot was shot in 720p native HD to P2 cards. The slow-motion footage was shot at 60-frames-per-second to really catch the eye blinks — however, the comedic pace of the show led us to speed up the shots in post. As this is a story about a big green idea, we intentionally let the image retain its green cast caused by the fluorescent house lights.
