Looks like we’re off to the (bike) races again with our old friend Graham Hill, Founder of TreeHugger.com The development team at Discovery’s Planet Green Channel have turned to Big City to produce as series of on-air interstitials centered around reproducible, medium-sized green solutions being implemented in New York City. And the host for these four segments is going to be Graham.

Shot on the Panasonic HVX200 on the good-ol’ flavor of DV, but sent directly to P2 Card, with available light by a one-man-band shooter-interviewer. Phew. Fabien was impressed with our alacrity! Editor Michele has more on Fabien’s watery talk-walking over at Susty.

While we were hard at work on various projects for TreeHugger.com and the soon-to-be-launched Planet Green channel, Big City was tasked with translating TreeHugger’s signature graphical look to the television screen in the form of animated in-program-messages.

When the need for an on-air spot promoting the site’s growing Gift Guide vertical, we spotted the need for a TreeHugger Gifts icon. So we reached out to the lushly talented Federico Slivka Lederer to get our fix. He came back with something that blew our hemp socks off: gift box bow made out of the top of the TreeHugger hero tree — we think deploying an exclamation point or two here is justified, so please allow us to add: !!!!!!!!!! The rest of the creative fell into place from there. Next challenge up: how to deliver a spot worthy of the brand’s elegant aesthetic, but (you know what we’re going to say) on a budget…

Hey-ho!!!! As part of Discovery Communication’s integration of TreeHugger.com which it acquired last August, BCP generated a grand package of deliverables based around a single shoot with multiple edits and iterations of post-production graphics…

Here’s some b-roll of host Oliva Zaleski followed by a couple of clips from our pilot webisode covering green gifts for the Jetsetter and for the Geek. Oliva gives a bit of an introduction and then dons her stewardess outfit to go aboard TreeHugger Airways. We follow up with a clip the bikinied Oliva using a solar-charger to power up her laptop so that she can get some work done while soaking up some rays on the beach.
