We were hired by PR and marketing firm Tobin and Tucker to shoot interviews with key designers at the 2009 International Contemporary Furniture Fair to be used for promotional purposes.
Our production company Big City Pictures recently produced a two-camera film shoot of the world-renown author and U.S. Poet Laureate Dr. Maya Angelou at home in her Harlem brownstone reciting the poem Amazement Awaits which she wrote specially for the 2008 Olympic Games. The piece is intercut with archival footage of great moments from Olympics past and will screen on NBC during its August coverage of the games. Also, we’re thrilled to find out that the Olympic Committee will be distributing copies of this inspiring video to each and every athlete to view while they travel to Beijing to compete — we’re terribly honored to in some small way touch the lives of the 2008 Olympians.
While in the process of producing the film shoot of Maya Angleou reading her poem Amazement Awaits in celebration of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing China, our production company Big City Pictures was asked to do a quick video shoot of Dr. Angelou as a greeting for a pre-dedication event of the Maya Angelou Libraries in the U.K.; she was feeling under the weather and would not be able to attend. Dr. Angelou belted out 12 minutes of extemporaneous speaking with nary a telepromter to be seen — pretty impressive even if she hadn’t recently become an octogenarian — wow!

BCP produced the sit-down interview shoots for on-camera experts in the History Channel television show The Lost Book of Nostradamus, somewhat based on the Michael Rathford book The Nostradamus Code World War 3 (2007-2012).
The CW Television Network (The CW), launched at the beginning of the 2006-2007 television season, is a joint venture between CBS Corporation, the former owners of United Paramount Network (UPN), and Warner Bros., former majority owner of The WB (Warner Brothers) Television Network (a network that has since been resurrected, with repeats of its programming, on the website TheWB.com). The “CW” name is derived from the first letter of the names of these corporations (CBS and Warner Brothers).
